- не режьте на нем выпечку;
- не ставьте прямо на источник тепла;
- ставить сверху металлические кольца и заливать в них тесто;
- готовить леденцы, декор из изомальта;
- раскатывать мастику или тесто.
Перфорированные удобны для работы с:
- песочным и слоеным тестом;

How to use a silicone mat for macarons
When you’re using your silicone mat, make sure it’s completely free of grease, debris, etc. You only want to use your silicone baking mat when it’s very clean. If it has residual grease on the baking mat, your macarons will absorb the grease and will not turn out.
If you’re using a silicone baking mat for macarons, you need to bake them for an extra minute or two. The texture of the silicone requires them to be baked longer than using parchment paper. Otherwise, the macarons will come off of the silicone baking mat not fully cooked. They will be a bit gummy on the bottom, making them not a perfect flat bottom.
Pipe the macaron batter directly on the silicone baking mat. Let them dry for 30 minutes, and then bake them for the required amount of time, plus 1-2 minutes.
Drying the macarons for 30 minutes allows a skin to form on the macarons, which makes them have a perfect shell when they bake.
How to use a silicone baking mat for chocolate
Silicone mats are special because they have a bit of a thickness to them, which makes it very easy to peel delicate foods of the silicone mat.
Silicone baking mats can easily be put in the fridge or freezer for intricate foods like piped chocolate decorations.
Place the silicone baking mat in the freezer with your piped chocolate decorations for about 20 minutes. You can gently peel the chocolate off of the mat, and then use for your dessert decoration.
How to use a silicone baking mat for rolling out dough
Place your dough directly on the silicone baking mat. Only flour your rolling pin and the dough. Roll out your dough to your required thickness. You can use cookie cutters to cut the cookie dough out while the dough is still on the mat. Gently lift the cookie off with a a flat spatula.
How long do silicone baking mats last
Silicone baking mats last 2000-3000 bakes in the oven. Depending on how many times you bake per year, your silicone baking mats should last 5-10 years.
Silicone baking mat substitute
You can substitute parchment paper for a silicone baking mat. Silicone baking mats act as reusable parchment paper.

If you ever wondering, can you cook meat on a silicone baking mat?
Most of us are aware that silicone mats are a great kitchen tool.
However, it’s not as simple as it seems.
Like what Addie had experienced.
My grandmother is big on baking.
Both my Mom and Dad don’t have much time to spend baking with her.
When she passed, a lot of her baking tools were left in our house.
Mom wanted us to sell or throw them all away now that there’s no one baking anymore.
All that was left was one silicone baking mat.
When I ran out of parchment papers, I used Nana’s silicone mat to bake and cook.
I wonder, what else can I use this mat for?
Imagine how it’ll feel.
A silicone mat might be one of the tools that can be easily replaced.
People are much more familiar with the use of parchment paper on a daily basis.
But imagine if you can make one investment and don’t have to waste any more used parchment away?

The silicone mat is known for its ability to retain heat.
Therefore, it is widely used for both baking and roasting purposes.
When we speak about baking, most people think only about bread and cakes.
But, this is not true at all.
In fact, many foods such as vegetables, pasta, meats, and even desserts go well on a silicone baking mat too.
Many people mistakenly believe that silicone mats aren’t good for baking applications.
But, they are wrong.
They just aren’t suitable for certain types of food.
With regards to cooking, silicone mats provide maximum heat retention which means that food cooks faster.
Also, unlike aluminum or stainless steel pans, silicone mats transfer heat evenly regardless of where you place them on the stovetop.
How It Works
Since silicone mats work well with convection technology, you can easily roast food by placing it directly over the heating element.
This way, food gets heated from every side. And since silicone absorbs very little moisture, you can add liquid without worrying about water spilling out onto other parts of the kitchen.
Because of their flexibility, these mats allow you to fold them into various shapes. This enables you to create special designs for your food.
Are these mats dishwasher-safe?
These baking mats are dishwasher safe, however, some people disagree about whether it is the best way to clean them.
A dishwasher is a good option, but only if you use gentle dish soap.
Scrub your mat only with a dry dish towel or soft sponges while washing it.
A baking mat is a type of baking paper that is used for baking.
It is made from cellulose, which is derived from trees and plants.
The baking mat is highly porous and has low absorbency.
The porous nature of the baking mat helps in the rapid drying of the dough and the uniformity of the baked product.
It also prevents the sticking dough to the surface.
The baking mat is available in different grades and thicknesses, with different textured surfaces.
As far as thickness goes, the thin grade is generally used in making pizza crusts while the thick grade is used for making cookies.
The texture of the baking mat depends upon how the material is processed.
The best thing about a baking mat is that it doesn’t require much oiling.
This feature ensures that the baking sheet remains dry throughout the process, thus reducing the chances of mess.
Moreover, it also works well in preventing the spillage of fat during frying.
The baking mat is eco-friendly and requires very little energy to manufacture.
Baking mat gives superior results to ordinary aluminum foil.
How Do I Properly Grease My Silicone Baking Mat
Just make sure to brush the surface clean so that it won’t stick when you’re done cooking.
But if you have a silicone baking mat, then brushing off the grease after cooking is less crucial.
Is Baking Mat Safe to Use?
Is Silicone Baking Safe? Silicone is a non-toxic polymer consisting primarily of silica (sand).
There’s no need to be concerned about baking with silicone mats because it’s typically deemed safe and non-toxic.
Most silicone baking mats should not be used under the broiler in general.
Heat-resistant, freezer-safe, and oven-safe, silicone cookware can only withstand temperatures of 428 degrees Fahrenheit or 220 degrees Celsius.
Silicon is also non-toxic, non-biodegradable, and non-recyclable due to its bonded nature.
When to Replace Your Mat
Silicone mats can be used in ovens up to 480°F, however, they should not be used directly on the oven surface or beneath the broiler.
A silicone baking mat can be used for at least a year before it has to be changed, depending on how it is used and cared for.
All in all,
Not only you can cook meat using the silicone mat, but you can also cook almost anything on it.
If you’re familiar with how parchment papers work, you can treat the silicone mat as you do the parchment.
But of course, using a silicone mat can be much more eco-friendly.
You don’t have to replace it after one use.
One investment is enough to get you through for a longer time!
What do you think about the silicone mat?
It’ll help a lot of people that are looking to buy one.

Bake your macarons for 1-2 minutes longer than when using parchment paper for the macarons to be easily peeled from the silicone baking mat.
Macarons are not fully cooled
Macarons will stick to the silicone baking mat if haven’t fully cooled before trying to remove them. Let them cool for at least 20 minutes before trying to remove the macarons. Usually it’s easier to leave the macarons on the baking sheet and let the macarons cool on the silicone baking mat for at least 20 minutes. Then peel the macarons off of the silicone baking mat and fill them.
Silicone baking mat is oily
Silicone baking mats cannot have any oily residue, or particulate present on the baking mat when using them for macarons. The macarons will absorb the oil while baking, making the macarons very difficult to get off of the silicone baking mat.
To remove oily residue from the silicone baking mat, wash it with soap and water and rinse to let dry.
If the oily residue is still present, pour boiling water on the silicone baking mat and it will clean the baking mat perfectly to use for your macarons.
Baking pan is old
Macarons need fresh aluminum baking pans to cook well. If your baking pan is old, unfortunately the macarons will stick to silicone and even parchment paper. Macarons need the conductivity of aluminum to cook evenly and for the temperature to be evenly distributed while baking. Use a new aluminum baking pan for cooking macarons if your pans are quite well used.
Baking pan is oily
Macarons will absorb any oil that’s present on the baking pan through the silicone or parchment paper. Remove any oily residue from the pan by washing it with soap and water.

Silpat silicone baking mats are one of the most durable, long lasting, temperature withstanding silicone mats available. They are professional grade quality with many bakeries choosing to bake with Silpat silicone baking mats.
- 2000-3000 uses
- up to 500°F in the oven – much more heat resistant than other silicone baking mats (~420°F)
- several sizes available that fit perfectly in a baking sheet
- commercial grade
I have used my Silpat baking mats for over a year now with baking many different foods:
- chocolate decorations
I find the Silpat silicone mats are much higher quality than my other silicone mats. They are able to withstand the high usage and high temperatures. I love the way my macarons turn out using the Slip
I love the way macarons turn out using the Silpat silicone baking mat. They give them a beautiful matte round finish to them which makes them look professional, like they came from a commercial bakery.
At first, I used parchment paper to bake macarons, but after getting more comfortable making macarons I like using the Silpat much better.
My favorite dessert to make with Silpat silicone baking mat are chocolate decorations.
I can easily pipe chocolate directly on the silicone mat and then place it in the freezer.
The silicone baking mat is much thicker, so I find I don’t easily ruin the design.
Using parchment paper for chocolate decorations is much more difficult because it’s flimsy, and easily movable which can disturb the design. I much prefer using the Silpat silicone baking mat.
When I make croissants, I find the Silpat silicone mat very easy to use for rolling out my croissant dough. I like having a couple of silicone mats. One for rolling out the dough, and one for shaping the butter layer.
The butter layer is easily manipulated on the silicone mat, since it remains in one place without moving.
I find using cling wrap is much more difficult to make the butter layer since it moves around and it quite flimsy. I find it hard to place it on a plate and then into the fridge, and somehow get it off of the plate in one piece to place into the croissant dough for lamination. The butter layer frequently breaks on me if I use cling wrap.
It’s much easier and I’ve had no issues at all with the butter layer breaking when I use my Silpat silicone mat. I would recommend to use it for anyone attempting croissants.
I have used my Silpat silicone baking mat for baking croissants on as well and so far I’m very impressed with how well they have turned out.

Silpat mat vs parchment paper
Silpat silicone mats are the gold standard for baking macarons. However, sometimes the macarons need a bit of longer bake time when using a Silpat silicone mat vs using parchment paper. Silpat silicone mats allow macarons to spread wider, which produces more of a rounder and flatter macaron than using parchment paper. This gives the macarons a more professional look to them when baked with a Silpat silicone mat.
A silicone baking mat can take high heat and replace parchment paper for baking & food preparation. I like to use them in lots of unusual ways in my kitchen. You can use them for cookies, of course, but there are lots of other creative Silpat baking mat uses, as well.
With a silicone baking mat, baked goods cook on the bottom at the same rate that they do on the top. Don’t waste – instead of using parchment paper or aluminum foil, a silicone mat can be used 3000 times with proper care & cleaning.

What do you use a Silicone baking mat for?
The short answer is just about anything! These handy kitchen mats can go from oven to freezer and can be used to cook, decorate and even do double duty in making crafts.
A Silicone Baking Mat makes Life Easy in the Kitchen.
The one kitchen product that I use all the time is a silicone oven mat. Most of you have probably heard of using them to make cookies, but these versatile oven mats can be used in many other ways too. Silicone mats can do anything parchment paper can do and a lot more!
The key to the versatility and efficiency of a silicone mat is that it contains a fiberglass grid that does not retain heat the way metal pans do.
This means that your favorite oven baked goods cook evenly all the way through too. Reusable baking mats help our environment by allowing us to waste less too since they can be reused over and over.
These are some of the ways that I make use of my silicone baking mat.
Making whipped cream ghosts
The smaller sized silicone mat is the perfect tool for making my whipped cream ghost cocktail garnish. It has small circles to let me pipe the ghosts and make them even in size.
The whole mat can then go into the freezer to allow the ghosts to set before adding them to drinks.
I love roasted veggies. Cooking them in the oven brings out the natural sweetness of vegetables but it can make a real mess out of roasting pans. I fix this easily when I use a silicone baking mat for roasting vegetables by placing the mat on a normal baking sheet.
My silpat mat is a bit bigger than my pan, so it forms sides and covers the bottom. Clean up is a breeze with soap and water. (See my recipe for asparagus wrapped in bacon. It’s delicious and cooks really well on a baking mat!)
Making Decorative Chocolate drizzles.
It is easy to decorate your cakes to look totally professional. Just add some melted dark or white chocolate icing (or colored with edible gel) to an icing bag.
Place a silicone baking mat on a cookie sheet, and make free form shapes or get extra creative and make forms that resemble trees, stars or whatever you like.
Place the whole baking sheet in the fridge to harden. Once the icing has cooled, remove the shapes from the Silpat mat by peeling them off the silicone.
Add these decorations to the top of cakes and cupcakes for a professional decorative touch that will have your friends thinking your purchased the baked goods..
Another easy way to do this is to form the silicone mat into a roll, and just drizzle the chocolate (use more than one color for the most effect) over the top of the rolled silicone mat.
Place the roll with the chocolate on it in the fridge to harden and then remove the pieces in random chunks and use to decorate your favorite baked goods.
This YouTube Video shows how to do it with parchment paper but it could be just as easily done with a silicone mat.
Cooking with a silicone baking mat is not just for cookies. Try making pizza on one. It will let you forget about cleaning up pizza pans! I love to make home made pizza.
I have never not been a fan of store bought pizza and find most retail pizzas way too high in calories, so I make my own and slim it down by making various substitutions.
Making individual pizzas on a silicone baking mat is a breeze. They end up with a perfect crust, there is no pizza pan to wash and clean up is simple and easy.
Fat free oven potatoes
Deep frying in oil adds a ton of extra calories to potatoes, but oven fries are a cinch to make on the silicone mats. They crisp up well. You don’t need to add extra oil (or calories) and can use whatever type of seasoning you like.
An added bonus is that the bottoms get evenly browned, so there is no need to stir them during cooking.
Also, the browned part stays on the potato instead of ripping off onto foil (been there, done that!). They are low calorie, delicious and so easy to do. The oven mats will take heat up to 450 º F, which makes them perfect for stuffed baked potatoes.
Looking for a recipe to try this out? These Herb Roasted potatoes with parmesan cheese is a favorite of mine
Home Made Bread without a pan
One of my favorite silicone mat uses is making bread without a baking pan. Crusty home made bread is made for a silicone mat. I just form mine into any kind of loaf that I want it to be (I love the look of free formed crusty bread!)
Once the loaf is formed, I give it an extra dusting of flour, cut a few slices to make the top pretty and voila! Perfect crusty bread.
Every baker knows what a mess you can make on a counter or cutting board when you are rolling out dough. Use silicone baking mats instead. The come in several sizes. The larger one is perfect for rolling dough.
Since nothing sticks to a Silpat mat, rolling and kneading dough is such an easy task on them. And no flour all over the counter when you are done. Just scoop up the mat and brush off the remaining flour and wash the mat in soapy water. Easy peasy!
A silicone mat also makes it easy to transfer the prepared dough to a dish (without getting your hands sticky) so that it can rise.
Not all baking mats are the same. Some have no markings at all, and some are imprinted with markings that make cooking making a breeze.
Baking cookies is the most often used reason to try a silicone baking mat. I have lots of different baking mats that I save for various purposes but the markings on this mat get the spacing right for cookies every time.
Using a mat like this makes it easy to space cookies on it, which is perfect for cooking with children. Some mats even have a neat grid marking pattern along the edges of it which is useful for measuring other types of baked goods.
Forming Cheese cups
This a neat tip for how to use a Silpat mat. Grate some Parmesan cheese and form it into a circle on the silicone baking mat. Bake it until it is golden brown. Remove with a silicone spatula and place over the top of a small glass and form into a cup while the cheese is still warm.
Let if form a cup shape and harden. Add your fillings. The Parmesan cups are super crispy. Try doing that on a piece of aluminum foil in the oven. It’s not going come off if you do!
When I make fudge, I often like to line the pan it is made i for easy removal of the fudge, but sometimes aluminum foil leaves little bits when it is peeled off. Instead use a silicone baking mat. Form it to the inside of your pan and add the fudge ingredients.
Silpat mats are perfect for any sort of candy making, because ingredients don’t stick to them! See more tips for making perfect fudge here.
You will love how easily it comes out of the pan!
Flash freezing fruit
Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat and then either cut the fruit up into chunks or leave it whole (if smallpieces) and place the whole baking sheet in the freezer for a couple of hours.
Silicone mats not only like the heat, they are also great for temps as low as -40 º, you will have a great batch of frozen fruit to use in smoothies or fruit popsicles later. Just the mat is all you need for perfect frozen fruit.
Doing this allows you to use fresh fruit in season to save on money. Try my strawberry frozen yogurt popsicle recipe. The kids will love them this summer.
Making Swiss Rolls
Using a Silpat baking mat to bake and roll a Swiss Roll cake makes this baking project a breeze. The cake mixture is baked on the pan and then filling is added and the whole cake is rolled right on the silicone mat.
This tutorial for a watercolor cake roll from Liv for Cake shows just how easy it can be to make a Swiss roll.
Anyone who has dipped candy pieces or strawberries in chocolate knows just how messy this task can be and what a disaster your counter and wire rack looks like after the job. Use a silicone baking mat instead. The chocolate won’t stick to the mat and clean up is a breeze.
Just dip the chocolates in melted chocolate, let them harden in the fridge and then peel off to remove without a mess. Drizzled strawberries are done the same way but need a little more clean up later. See my tips for perfectly drizzled chocolate here.
This is one time when the high heat of the silicone baking mat is not as important as the even cooking that the mats provide. Meringues are cooked at a very low temperature and these mats will give you fluffy and crispy meringues with just the right texture.
Just pipe your egg whites into meringue shapes and bake them at a low temperature. They will be perfectly cooked on the bottom and the sides and you have far less likelihood of burning the bottoms.
Fruit Roll Ups
Silicone mats make a great base on which to cook fruit roll ups. The mixture won’t stick like it does with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and remains pliable after baking.
Once your fruit mixture has cooled, you can cut a piece of wax paper or parchment paper to place the mixture on so that you can then cut it into rolls. For a tasty strawberry fruit roll up recipe, try this one from Life Currents..
It is not just edible projects that can be made on Silpat mats. You can get crafty with DIY projects, as well. Place cookie cutters and fill them with peppermints to make ornaments.
Protect your Work Surface
Crafts and DIY projects can be messy. Use large silicone baking mats to protect your work surface and make clean up easier later.
Glue drips will peel right off and even messy acrylic paints are a breeze to clean up.
Make ornaments and candy cane crafts
Another idea is to lay out candy canes on a mat and then, while the mixture is still warm, wrap it around an upside down shot glass and form the soft peppermint into shape.
This idea can be used to make candy bowls and other crafts, too by using normal bowls to drape the melted peppermint or candy cane over to form the shape.
Bake Polymer Clay
Polymer clay is often used to make jewelry. A silicone baking mat makes a great work surface to form the pieces of clay.
Silpat mats make it easy to transport small pieces to the oven. It also allows it to cool very quickly so you don’t need to worry about pot holders or oven mitts.
Just make sure that if you use a cookie sheet for your clay, do not use it later for food.
For Nail Art
The pattern on silicone mats can be used to create reverse stamping for nail art. It is much easier to do that the normal process and looks great when done.
This video shows how it is done.

Silicone mats are usually placed between baking sheets or whatever you’re cooking. They can be used as a substitute for greasing a pan or baking sheet. If you’re baking something that is messy or sticky, knowing how to use baking silicone mat can really help.
The mat can prevent your baking sheet from getting very messy, which makes for a much faster and easier cleanup when you’re done cooking. It’s no wonder experienced chefs use silicone baking mats from time to time.
There are definitely instances where the silicone mat is more useful than using a cooking spray, parchment sheets, or other methods of preventing food from sticking to pans.
You might be wondering if you can use silicone mats the same way that you would use cooking spray or parchment paper. Are they interchangeable?
For the most part, silicone mats can be used same way you use either of these. However, one thing you should know about how to use a silicone baking mat is that while silicone mats are often safe for baking with, sometimes they are made with toxins. That sounds pretty scary, right? It is bad as it sounds, and it’s definitely not intentional, but this is something you need to watch out for.
Not every company makes their silicone mats with the same materials, and some of them use fillers to keep costs low. Silicone mats are very popular for kitchen use, so it makes sense that a lot of companies would jump on the trend and make their own version of silicone mats.
However, not all companies adhere to the same levels of quality when manufacturing these, using lower quality components to fill out the mats. Some of these components can seep out into the air and into your food when the mat is heated up. You have to watch out for that and try to use only safe and environmentally friendly silicone mats in your cooking.
How to Use Silicone Mat for Baking
If you want to bake with a silicone map, there are a few things you should know about how to make it work just a little bit better for you. You can use the baking mat alone and usually get good results, but sometimes food will stick to it. If you want to prevent food from sticking to the mat, first put your mat on the baking pan and next spray down the mat with cooking spray.
This may seem redundant and like a waste of cooking spray, but it is a great way to ensure absolutely that your food doesn’t stick to the mat. It makes for easier cleaning when you’re all done baking.
The best method for how to use silicone baking mat is to use it as a pan liner. Simply line any cooking sheet or baking tray with silicone baking mat. Cooking spray is optional but can help reduce your mess and cleanup. After all, you will be reusing the silicone mat, so why not make things easier on yourself and use a little cooking spray?
Knowing how to use professional silicone baking mat makes things a whole lot easier for you in the kitchen. I definitely recommend using one of these mats if you are making a lot of food and don’t want to have a big mess to clean up later on. The silicone mat can really minimise the mess for you and ensure that you spend less time tidying up.
Different kinds of baking mats function identically. If you know how to use a Farberware silicone baking mat, then you know how to use an Imarku silicone baking mat.
The different mats may have different advantages, such as being made of varying sizes or thickness. Some of them are also designed to be more non-stick than others, negating the need for any cooking spray.
There are little advantages to the various silicone baking sheets that you can find, but for the most part, they’re pretty much identical.
How to Use a Baking Mat with an Iron
Did you know there are other uses for the silicone baking mat then just baking? I found it is very useful for ironing clothes as well. This is one of those little known uses that a few people will absolutely swear by.
Here’s how to use the silicone baking mat to iron in your clothes. Just place the mat down on the ironing board or on the iron board cover. Then, place your clothes on top of the map and iron as normal. You don’t have to do anything different other than place them on an ironing board. So, how does the silicone mat help you in ironing clothes?
What it does is reflect the heat from the iron back through the clothes. That means you’ll iron clothes faster and neater. There’s less need for starch and other little helpful techniques people often use for ironing. You can iron your clothes more effectively and they’ll come up nicer looking when you’re done. This is why I suggest trying the silicone mat for clothes ironing.
Should You Buy A Silicone Mat?
There’s no denying how versatile a silicone mat is and how it can help you do things more effectively and keep your mess to a minimum. I think they’re worth the price just for how much money they save you over the long term.
Yes, a silicone mat costs more than parchment paper, but you can keep reusing it. Instead of buying new packs of parchment paper every so often, you can keep using the same silicone mat for years.
This is a great minor purchase for your kitchen, and it’s also environmentally friendly. I think everyone should have a couple silicone mats in the kitchen. I say a couple because it’s helpful to have a few of these on hand in case you want to bake multiple things at once.
You’ll definitely be thankful for how little mess you have to clean up afterwards and how easily the baking goes. It’s also really easy to take cookies, brownies, another baked goods off of the baking sheet and the silicone mat after they are cooked. They come off so quick and easily and leave so little mess behind that you’ll wonder why you didn’t use a silicone mat before.
